Spring Salad Mix

Hello! Today I am going to share my recipe for a my Spring Salad Mix. This recipe was inspired by a dish my dad got at a restaurant on a business trip. I suggest paring this dish with the Girard's Raspberry Dressing or Ken's Fat Free Raspberry Pecan Salad Dressing

Spring Salad
Fresh Mixed Berries (I Used blueberries, Black Raspberries and Red Raspberries)
1 Cup of Walnut Pieces

I usually put the salad in a bowl add the berries and walnuts on top. This salad is very easy to make and a big crowd pleaser!

Top 5 Best Remedies for Cold

Today I am sharing my best best remedies for a cold. When I uses these items when I have a cold it seems to help me get better sooner.  Remember these are my suggestions and I am in no means a doctor, so please consult a professional before trying any of my remedies. Here are my best remedies for cold that have helped me feel better.
The first product that I loved was the Celestial Seasoning Sleepytime Sinus Soother Tea. This product relay seemed to help with my congestion while helping me increase my fluids. This does have a licorice taste so if your not into that you could try Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Extra Tea for a more calmer tasting tea. The next product I love is my Puffs Plus Lotion Tissues. When you are constantly using tissues you are thankful for tissues with lotion.
My next favorites are Blistex Lip Protectant Ointment and Gold Bond Lotion . My skin has been so dry lately that I was so happy that I had these in my room. I feel like when my skin is well moisturizer I tend to feel better and less dehydrated.  My final product that has helped me was Ramen. For some reason Ramen tastes the best when I am sick. I hope you enjoyed this post and please leave a comment below telling me what helps you when you are sick.

Planning a Menu on a Budget

This year my family is focused on clean eating and incorporating more whole grains and vegetables into our diet. When deciding to change our lifestyle we realized that the majority of our problems came from not knowing what to fix for dinner and not having that items on hand in the house to cook. As a result we would fix pre-made junk food or go out to eat. In order to fix this problem we decided to create a dinner menu for the week and plan a weekly grocery shop.

When planing a menu we are going to stick to this proportions of food
  • 1/4 Plate of Protein
  • 1/4 Plate of Starch
  • 1/2 Plate of Vegetable (made up of two vegetables)
  • Fruit (we use it as our dessert)
When writing this plan out it seemed easy, but when it came to planing a menu on a budget it was hard to fill the requirement that I just listed. When I plan the menu for the week, I look at my local adds to see what was on sale. For example this week chicken, carrots, celery and onions were on sale. So I planed two soups and a chicken dish for the week. This easily made 3 meals for the week plus leftovers. I then substitute either no salt added caned beans and vegetables throughout the week to fill out my menu. Also when making my menu out and I look at manufactures websites to see if they have a coupons for the product that I need. For example I found a coupon on the Swansons Broth Website for one dollar off 2 broths. This made my 2 soup dishes for the week even cheaper to make.

How To Frost A Cupcake Like A Professional

I get asked how to frost a cupcake whenever I bring a batch anywhere! Creating professional handmade cupcakes are simply easy. The secret to getting a professional look is to use Wilton tip 1M. This tip is what stores and bakeries use to create the frosting on their cupcakes.

Insert a tip 1M into a cake decorating bag and fill it with frosting. Now frost a circle around the             edge of the cupcake.

Now you will want to do two more continuous circles so there is no cake showing.
